After the success of its inauguration in 2008 The Stourhead Summer Exhibition has now become and annual event. In addition to exhibits in our gallery space we will also be showing in Spread Eagle Courtyard and the Stourton Memorial Hall. Whilst loosely modelled on the RA's Summer Exhibition we intend to sell and replace work as the exhibition progresses.
The event will be widely publicised and is appearing in the National Trust's Events Programme. At this time of the year Stourhead would expect 1000's of visitors, most of whom pass through the Courtyard on their way to the garden. In addition to exhibiting larger pieces in the Courtyard we also intend to have demonstrations by artists. If you would be interested in demonstrating please let us know.
Interested artists should complete the 'Expression of Interest' form or contact First-View by telephone (01747 840747) this must be done by 1st April. At this stage there is no commitment and we do not require details of work you may wish to exhibit.
Artists who have not shown at First-View before will need to send representative examples of at least 3 pieces of work. This may be done by email attachment (no files larger than 100k please) or by post.
Time Table
1st April - Final date for expression of interest, by this date we will need to know you are interested in entering work into the exhibition, we will not require information about your entries. You may register your interest by completing the 'Expression of Interest' form at this link or by contacting us. For artists who have not previously exhibited in the Gallery we would also need to see photographs of typical work, these may be sent by post or as email attachments, please see the checklist for advice on email attachents.
12th May - Final date for receipt of entries. Entry forms will be available after 1st April and must be returned with the payment of £10 per item (no charge for browser work). If there is to be an additional charge for oversize work you will be notified well before the start of the exhibition.
