Peter Snell
Peter Snell was born in Oxford in 1935 and started painting when he was 11 when a local amateur artist gave him all her empty tubes of colour. From these he managed to squeeze any remaining paint and so commenced his own artistic exploits.
He served in the Fleet Air Arm for nine years spending much of his time touring the world. In 1979 Peter decided to focus all his efforts on full time painting.
Peter now lives in Wiltshire with his wife and family, where his studio overlooks Salisbury Plain. His work in oils explores the English landscape, with a current series depicting the magnificent gardens at Stourhead. He has had numerous one-man exhibitions and his work is to be found in collections worldwide.
